Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in Tatarstan-Tajikistan business forum in Khujand

On 3 April  the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov , who came on a working trip to Tajikistan (1-3 April 2025) and the Chairman of the Sughd region Rajabboy Akhmadzoda  took part in a business forum and a round table “Tatarstan-Tajikistan” dedicated to interaction of business circles of the republics  
In his welcoming speech Rustam Minnikhanov informed that earlier at his meeting with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon  they agreed to organize this event and added that Emomali Rakhmon himself defined that the Sughd region is the most suitable one for interaction and business bonds. 
“It is my first time here and I am impressed by your wonderful region with rich history and culture and its great investments potential,” he said and congratulated participants of the session with Eid-Al-Fitr and Nowruz holidays.
“We highly appreciate interaction between our republics within the framework of Russia-Tajikistan relations. The continuous dialogue of leaders of our countries and reciprocal visits create perfect conditions and opportunities for working at the inter-regional level,” he said and briefly told about Tatarstan as one of the leading and industrially developed regions of Russia. 
In conclusion Rustam Minnikhanov said he hopes that today’s business forum will facilitate further development and expansion of mutually beneficial friendly relations between regions and strengthening of cooperation of Russia and Tajikistan in the whole. 
He also invited a delegation from the Sughd region to the next XVI International Economic Forum ”Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum” to be held in Kazan on 13-18 May in the current year.
In his turn Rajabboy Akhmadzoda informed that every year the GRP of the region grows by 8-9 per cent. “We are proud of our achievements especially in such spheres as industry, agriculture and tourism,” he said.
The Head of the region also briefed about agricultural and industrial potential of his region, especially in mining, power, machine building, food and light industries.

“We are ready to exchange experience in industrial sector modernization and procurement of new materials and technologies,” he emphasized.
Speaking to journalists after the forum, Rustam Minnikhanov informed that they have reached an agreement on a visit of Tajikistan colleagues to Tatarstan in the coming May. “We have also defined priority spheres which will be interesting. Russia is a huge country and Tajikistan business will be interested in this market where Tatarstan can become the entry point,” he said.
