On 29 March in his address to residents of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated them with the end of the fast and the sacred holiday Eid al-Fitr and said: “The holy month of Ramadan was filled with thankful prayers, good deeds and charity actions for Muslims.
The multi-century traditions of the holiday reflect the succession of generations and striving of our people to eternal ideals of the good and justice. Continuing and multiplying pious deeds of our ancestors we continuously strengthen the unity of Muslim Ummah based on traditional values, develop and improve inter-ethnic and inter-religious cooperation.
In the life-changing time for the Fatherland, Muslims close together with representatives of other ethnicities and religions rose to the defense of our Motherland. May prayers for the victory, recovery of the wounded and the repose of the fallen said in the month of Ramadan be accepted by the All Mighty.
A number of important events in life of Muslims of the republic, which happened lately, quite justifiably have been inscribed into its chronicles. Year after year the capital of Tatarstan becomes the point of attraction for Muslims from all over Russia and foreign countries. The fact that Kazan has been given an honor to be the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World in 2026 is the proof of achievements of the republic.
High ambitions and everyday deeds of Muslims of the republic completely correspond to the dynamic creative pace of life of our multi-national republic.
So may this wonderful holiday give us all joy of spiritual renovation, unity and creative work.”
In conclusion Rustam Minnikhanov wished everyone peace, happiness and prosperity!
