The Rais of Tatarstan: During the two-month sanitary and ecological campaign, special attention should be paid to cleaning public spaces

On March 29, speaking at the Government House of the republic at a regional meeting, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that a two-month cleaning and environmental campaign starts in Tatarstan on April 1 and instructed to pay special attention to the sanitary cleaning of public spaces: parks, squares, embankments, courtyards and water protection zones.

He emphasized that today citizens are actively signaling the need to bring order to these sites. Only in recent weeks, the «People’s Control» and «Incident-management» systems registered about 1100 messages on this topic.

Tatarstan Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Aleksandr Shadrikov reported that the organizational structures of the two month campaign and operational headquarters have been formed in all municipalities.

The Minister also said that in 2024, the supervisory authorities revealed almost 3,500 violations, including 40 per cent of them were places of unauthorized waste disposal.

Every second violation was eliminated by May 30, the rest - within a year. Administrative fines amounting to more than 4,7 million roubles were inmposed. In total, more than 398,000 Tatarstan residents took part in the campaign last year. About 350,000 cubic meters of waste were taken to the solid waste landfills.
