Top dressing of winter crops and perennial grass starts in 22 regions in Tatarstan

On 22 March, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Lenar Garipov reported about top dressing of winter crops, the spring crops seeds supply situation and the weather forecast for spring field work.

He informed that top dressing of winter crops and perennial grass started in 22 regions of the republic with work done on the area of 45 thousand hectares which makes 5 per cent of the 482 thousand hectares of winter crops and 372 thousand hectares of perennial grass.

“In the whole the condition of winter crops is good and satisfactory,” Lenar Garipov clarified.

He reported that the spring crops seeds supply makes 123 per cent in the republic and added that the import of purchased seeds is under continuous monitoring.

Lenar Garipov also reported that farms continue to stock mineral fertilizers and that the Ministry together with specialists from the Gostekhnadzor ( the Federal Service for the Supervision of Environment, Technology and Nuclear Management)  and Ministry related organizations carries out checks of readiness of agricultural machinery at farms for spring work with repairs of it to be completed by 10 May.

In his turn Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that today it is especially important to have all machinery and corresponding specialists ready for spring work. On top of that provision of quality seeds was and is a priority, he said.
