Rais of Tatarstan: We are interested in expanding export deliveries to Vietnam

On 21 March, speaking at a meeting of a round table Tatarstan-Hanoi, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who came on a working trip to Vietnam, thanked the leadership of the country and the administration of the city for their hospitality and having organized comfortable stay of a delegation from Tatarstan. 

He stated that the delegation comprises heads of ministries, departments and enterprises of the republic and said: “Russia-Vietnam relations are characterized as a comprehensive partnership. The XVI BRICS Summit held in Kazan in October last year has become an important milestone on this way. It was a great honor for us to host the Prime Minister of Vietnam Phạm Minh Chính at this representative international forum.” 

Russia-Vietnam trade turnover increased by one forth last year and Tatarstan has its own history of relations with the country, Rustam Minnikhanov said and reminded that came on working trip to Vietnam many times. There is a working agreement between Chambers of Commerce of Tatarstan and Vietnam and the Vietnamese market is a strategically important sphere for work of the KAMAZ, he said and added that there is established cooperation with the Kazan Helicopter Plant and petrochemical industry. 

Vietnam is one of the quickly growing economies of the South-East Asia with fast growing IT sector, manufacture of microelectronics and large deposits of rare earth metals. 

“We are interested in expanding deliveries of petrochemical and machine-building products to Vietnam, including vehicles, helicopters and ships, car tyres and compressors, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment,” Rustam Minnikhanov stated.
