Rais of Tatarstan takes part in the IХ congress of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the republic

On 19 March the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Mufti of the republic Kamil Samigullin, the regional Deputy Prime Minister Vasil Shaykhraziev, who is also the Chairman of the National Council of the World Tatar Congress, the Deputy Chairman of the regional State Council Marat Akhmetov and more than 1 500 imams from the whole republic took part in the IХ congress of the Tatarstan Muslims Spiritual Board.

Before the beginning of the congress, Rustam Minnikhanov looked round mobile mosques mounted on the basis of UAZ vehicles purchased by the Mufti Office and reequipped on the money raised during the charity action “To Heroes from Muslims of Tatarstan” and an exposition showing main results of work of the Muslims Spiritual Board of the republic in 2021-2024.

In his summarizing report at the congress Kamil Samigullin told that the special military operation (SMO) also had an impact on life of Tatarstan Ummah which has collected and delivered 14 Relief consignments to the SMO soldiers, 27 imams and the Board specialists visited soldiers at the front and seven vehicles, three motorbikes and 165 thousand prayer books were sent to the front. 

Kamil Samigullin also told about work done in other important spheres of Muslim community such as education and upbringing of the youth, promotion of healthy life style and preservation of rich spiritual heritage.  

At the election procedure held later at the congress Kamil Samifullin was re-elected to the position of the mufti of the republic. 

Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated Kamil Samigullin with his re-election and stated that since the beginning of the SMO Muslims of the republic have actively joined humanitarian work and help defenders of the Fatherland and residents of new regions.  “My special thanks are to Imams and heads of cities and regions for the support given to participants of the SMO and their families. You are making a big contribution into this noble deed,” he said and in the conclusion of the session handed in a number of state awards of the republic.
