Rais of Tatarstan launches a new season of School Diplomacy Clubs Project

On 17 March in the new building of the Kamal Theatre the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov launched the new season of the federal flag ship project of the Movement of the First “the School Diplomacy Clubs” which is a network of school clubs all over the world united by common values and implementing joint socially important projects and actions. The project is aimed at shaping systematic multilateral contacts among schoolchildren from friendly countries and common values at school environment.

Speaking at the event, Rustam Minnikhanov stated that the republic was one of the first to support the idea of this event. “We understand that without taking into consideration the opinion of the young generation, and without communication of the youth of various countries there can be no success in the quickly changing world. It is you who define the future of our countries and the development of foreign relations tomorrow will depend on how you establish the dialogue today,” he said.

He thanked colleagues from Russian and foreign schools for their participation in the project and civic engagement and said that not once have Tatarstan and Kazan hosted milestone international events.

This year more than 200 schools from 20 foreign countries and various regions of Russia are involved into the project, which includes joint online-meetings of schools of Russia and partner-countries, the aim of which is to get acquainted with culture of various countries, the basics of diplomacy and international relations.
