Rustam Minnikhanov gives a number of errands at Saturday regional meeting in Tatarstan Government House

On 15 March, speaking at a Saturday regional meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov gave a number of errands, the first of them being ensuring city dwellers with quality and affordable agricultural products. Agricultural fairs have resumed their work and will be held till 27 April at 19 sites. “The Ministry of Agriculture and Food together with heads of regions and agribusiness enterprises should organize the fairs at the proper level and carefully monitor products prices and quality, ensuring transport accessibility,” he said.

Speaking about the Day of consumer and utilities services workers held on 16 March this year, the Rais of the republic emphasized: “As many as 27 400 people work in these spheres in the republic and the life quality of the population and coordinated work of all industry depend on their professionalism. We should deeply respect those people who ensure operation of housing and utilities infrastructure.”

He reminded that Tatarstan has set up a new programme of modernization of communal infrastructure with 10bn rubles allocated on it annually with additional 1.6bn coming from the federal budget. “All this money must be used efficiently and for its intended purpose, Never before has so much money been allocated to the housing and utilities infrastructure!” he emphasized.

Rustam Minnikhanov also reminded that on 18 March Russia celebrates 11 years of the reunification of the Crimea and Russia and said: “It is a very important event for our country, the restoration of historic justice. I ask heads of regions and cities to ensure organizing events during this day.”

He informed that the IX congress of the Russian Muslims Spiritual Board and the XIII regional Iftar will be held at the Kazan Expo on 19 March which will consider important aspects of life of Tatarstan Muslims and elect the Mufti and the Chief Kazy. “Participation of 13 thousand residents and guests of the region is planned in Iftar and it is necessary to ensure their transportation and safety. The event should be held at the highest level as it is very important for the Muslim Ummah of the republic,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
