Rustam Minnikhanov calls for ramping up efforts to monitor the serviceability of heating systems and gas equipment

On 1 March at a regular meeting held in the Government House of the republic the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov called for ramping up efforts to monitor the serviceability of heating systems and gas equipment.

Last week there were 79 fires killing six people, including one kid, and four cases of CO poisoning in the republic mostly caused by the malfunction of electrical and furnace equipment and the Rais of the republic stressed: “Heads of cities and regions, department of Emergencies Ministry and gas electricity supply organizations should ramp up preventive work in residential houses paying special attention to families with many children, lonely elderly people and socially vulnerable residents. It is also necessary to step up the work in revealing illegal tapping to electric and gas networks and monitoring functionality of heating systems and gas equipment, including timely chimney sweeping.”

Rustam Minnikhanov also gave an errand to provide targeted help to low-income citizens for repairs of stove heating and electrical wiring. “Safety of lives of our citizens is our priority task,” he concluded.
