Rustam Minnikhanov gives an errand to heads of municipalities to hold celebrations of the Day of Defender of Fatherland at the highest level

On 22 February, speaking at a regular meeting held with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and the Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin  in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: ”Tomorrow our country is celebrating the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland – the holiday which has become a symbol of courage, resilience and patriotism uniting everyone who is ready to defend Motherland. This day we express deep gratitude to all those who served and are serving in the Armed Forces and fighting at the special military operation (SMO) defending peace and quietness of our country. Their professionalism, devotion to duty and love for Fatherland are an example for all of us.”

He reminded about a joint meeting of organizational committees for the Year of Defenders of Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and clarified: “We are having a joint meeting of both committees simultaneously as they complement each other and are very similar.”

Rustam Minnikhanov told that festive events dedicated to the Day of Defenders of Fatherland will be held at all municipalities and city districts of the republic and gave an errand to heads of municipalities to hold celebrations at the highest level.
