Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a joint meeting of the Operational Headquarters for ensuring social and economic stability in the republic and the collegium of Tatarstan Ministry of Economics

On 21 February the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhaniov and the Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Economic Policy Maksim Topilin took part in a joint meeting of the Operational Headquarters for ensuring social and economic stability in the republic and the collegium of the regional Ministry of Economics held at the Volga State University of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism in Kazan.

The keynote speaker of the meeting, the regional Minister of Economics Midkhat Shagiakhmetov reported that in 2024 the GRP of the republic exceeded 5 trillion rubles which was by 3.9 per cent more than in 2023.

He said that the main contribution into the economics was made by processing industries, the implementation of large-scale infrastructural projects and the increased amount of agricultural produce.

On top of that the growth was also facilitated by high consumer’s activity, SMEs and implementation of investments projects.

Compared to 2023 the number of on-line traders in the republic increase nearly by 13 per cent in 2024 and reached about 68 thousand organizations, with their revenues making about 70bn rubles, the regional Minister informed.

 In his report Midkhat Shagiakmetov also told that Tatarstam export reached 12bn dollars US in 2024 which was 117.6 per cent compared to 2023 and proposed to open a representative office of the Russian Export Center in Kazan.

He also proposed to hunt down a matter why 11 IT companies stopped their work at the advanced development territories of the republic.
