Rais of Tatarstan: In the Year of Defenders of Fatherland the Day of Honoring the Combatants in the Territory of Other States gains special meaning

On 8 February, speaking at a regional meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that the Day of Honoring the Combatants in the Territory of Other States gains a special meaning in the Year of Defenders of the Fatherland. 

On 15 February Russia celebrates the Day of memory of Russian citizens, who fulfilled their services outside Russia, which is dedicated to the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. “This day we glorify those soldiers who fought in Afghanistan and other military veterans who fought in hot spots, having courageously fulfilled their duty,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.  

He also stated that many of those veterans are taking part in the special military operation, humanitarian missions and carrying out patriotic work with the youth. The Rais of the republic gave an errand to heads of cities and regions to organize festive events at the high level.
