Rustam Minnikhanov hands in Tatarstan state awards in science and technology

On 7 February at a solemn ceremony in the Kazan Kremlin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov handed in state awards in the sphere of science and technology to outstanding scientists and engineers of the republic.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that it has become a good tradition to organize the event on the eve of the Day of Science of Russia and congratulated scientists who deserved high awards in the Year of the Scientific and Technological Development of Tatarstan.

“Tatarstan has always been on the fore front in implementation of strategic initiatives of the country in science and engineering. It is gratifying that today as well the academic community of the republic is in the center of solving tasks home scientists are facing,” he said.

The Year of Scientific and Technological development of our republic in the whole became very bright and fruitful for our scientific and educational complex and Tatarstan has preserved its third position in the National ranking of scientific and technological development of Russian entities.

“Our universities and research organizations continued to play an important role in the most important events of the national project “Science and Universities” and the adjacent federal projects “Priority-2030”, “The Advanced Engineering Schools” and “The Platform of University Technological entrepreneurship”. The advanced research infrastructure and the innovative educational environment continued their dynamic development in Tatarstan,” Rustam Minnikhanov reminded.

He also stated a substantial contribution of the Almetyevsk Oil Higher School and the corporate research and technology center of the SIBUR Company in Kazan and the 220th anniversary of the Kazan Federal University celebrated last year

The Rais of the republic also emphasized that the year 2024 was marked by the deep reset of the foundations of the operation of the domestic higher education and science system. “Together we will implement the revised Strategy of scientific and technological development of Russia and the achievement of ambitious goals of the country in the sphere of science and technology,” he concluded and congratulated all participants of the ceremony with the coming holiday – the Day of Russian Science and wished them energy and new achievements for the benefit of the scientific and technical progress of our country and the republic.

The ceremony ended with handing in the awards.
