On 31 January in the Kazan Kremlin the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov awarded 19 war veterans with jubilee medals “80th anniversary of Victory in The Great Patriotic War 1941-1945”
Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that the medal established by Russian President Vladimir Putin personifies all those who fought at the front, worked at home frond, survived in concentration camps, blockades and hunger not losing their faith in victory.
“It is my great honor to welcome you in the Kazan Kremlin. The year of 2025 is special for us as we are celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII) and the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland both in the country and the republic. Handing you in jubilee medals we would like to express our deepest gratitude as your courage and endless love to the native land are the inspiring example of selfless service to the Motherland and first of all it is such for our young generation,” he said.
“Our task is to raise them at high examples of patriotism and use the historic memory This is what the successful development of our country depends on,” Rustam Minnikhanov concluded and handed in the medals to war veterans, home front veterans and residents of blockaded Leningrad.
In conclusion of the ceremony the Rais of the republic wished veterans good health, long years of life and prosperity. “May your hearts be always filled with warmth and care of your near ones,” he said.
