Rustam Minnikhanov: Investigation bodies give quick response to all socially meaningful and resonance events

On 24 January the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Chief Federal Inspector for Tatarstan Viktor Demidov took part in an expanded meeting of the collegium of the Directorate of the Russian Investigation Committee for the republic held by the Head of the Directorate Valery Lipsky and dedicated to results of work in 2024.

Speaking at the meeting, Valery Lipsky informed about criminal cases started and completed in the republic, including 2062 heinous crimes, about work done in revealing and investigating corruption and tax crimes and special attention paid to the prevention and elimination of causes which resulted in crimes.  

In his turn, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that last year the Directorate work was highly intense and it carried out fruitful interaction with colleagues from other law enforcement bodies of the republic. “Investigation bodies gave quick response to all socially meaningful and resonance events. Together with other law enforcement bodies they ensured security and successful elections of Russian President and members of the regional state Council, the XVI BRICS Summit and other important events,” he said. 

The Rais of the republic stressed that in the current year investigators should ramp up work in a number of key spheres such as following the law when opening and investigating criminal cases, using forensic technology, carrying out expertise and so on. 

He also attracted attention to the importance of ramping up work in revealing and investigating corruption crimes, investigating and preventing terrorist and extremist actions “as they are a tool used by enemies for destabilization of domestic political situation and fanning inter-ethnic and inter-religious hatred in the country and the republic.” “When neutralizing extremist structures, the actions must be as decisive as possible,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. 

He also said that problems of growing number of crimes committed by labour immigrants needs the use of new approaches. ”Such crimes should be continuously prevented at all levels and it is necessary to reveal social stability hazards,” the Rais of the republic said. 

Having mentioned large scale measures of supporting participants of the special military operation and their families, Rustam Minnikhanov added that these measures must be uninterrupted and coordinated with other directorates and state power bodies. 

In the end of the meeting the Rais of the republic handed in state awards of the republic to the most outstanding employees of the Investigation Directorate.
