Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Dmitriy Patrushev visit the construction site of a waste disposal plant in Kazan

On 23 January the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Dmitriy Patrushev accompanied by the Director General of the AGK-2 waste disposal plant Vasiliy Belosevich, visited the plant construction site where the guests were informed that the construction of the plant which was brought to a halt because of problems with equipment in 2023 has been resumed.

In 2024 the plant signed an agreement with a Chinese partner which will produce the main equipment for the project which will comply with all ecological requirements. 

The plant is under construction in Zelenodolsk region of the republic and it will use the most wide-spread and efficient waste disposal technology, namely incineration of a shutter grade. Vasiliy Belasevich informed his guests that the facility was 24 per cent complete.
