Rustam Minnikhanov: We have good opportunities for broadening cooperation with Vologda region

On 16 January, speaking at his meeting with the Governor of Vologda region Georgy Filimonov in the Kazan Kremlin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that the republic has good opportunities for broadening cooperation with the region.

In the beginning of the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov and Georgy Filimonov signed an agreement on trade and economic, scientific and technical, social and cultural cooperation between Governments of the republic and the region and an action plan of its implementation.

Rustam Minnikhanov stated that the Agreement and the road map will become a good foundation for strengthening mutual ties and first of all the trade turn over. Tatarstan supplies trucks, fuel, petrochemical products, medical instruments and equipment to Vologda region and gets mainly rolled-steel products. “We have all opportunities for broadening the range and amount of mutual trade,” he emphasized.

During the meeting the Rais of the republic also named other promising spheres of cooperation and said: “Our republic is carrying out targeted work in developing innovative and industrial infrastructure. We are always ready to exchange experience in supporting entrepreneurship and training specialists. Our regions also have good opportunities for developing ties in the spheres of science and education.”

He thanked the administration of the region for the attention given to issues of preservation of culture and identity of Tatars living in Vologda region.

In his turn Georgy Filimonov gave high evaluation to the economic development of the republic and the experience of Tatarstan in the development of industrial parks and the innovational infrastructure. He emphasized that his region is interested in strengthening the cooperation.

During his stay in Kazan Georgy Filimonov plans to visit Bashir Rameev IT Park and the new building of the Kamal Tatar State Academic Theatre.
