Rustam Minnikhanov meets Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Cyril

On 14 January, speaking at his meeting with the Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Cyril, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated that such meetings have become traditional and take place during celebrations of Orthodox Christmas and congratulated Orthodox Christians of the republic with this happy holiday. 

At the meeting the parties discussed the current work of Tatarstan Metropolis, issues of cooperation in strengthening inter-ethnic and inter-religious concord and organizing events during the coming celebrations of the Epiphany. 

Cyril thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for comprehensive help given to the Metropolis of the republic, expressing special gratitude for helping the restoration of historical buildings of the Kazan Virgin Monastery.

The Metropolitan summarized results of last year and emphasized active participation of the clergy at the special military operation, a substantial development of the social service and strengthening of the inter-religious cooperation in the region.
