On 14 December, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov gave an errand to heads of municipalities and branch ministries and directorates to give quick response to complaints of citizens and to remove snow from roads and pedestrians zones in due time and to monitor the situation on the roofs of multi-apartment houses.
“Removal of snow and ice from roads and pedestrians zones is an important task for communal and road services in winter. ”Recent snowfalls cause a substantial number of complaints from residents of the republic,” he said and informed that there are 575 registered complaints about undue snow removal.
The Rais of the republic said that snow removal from sidewalks and access roads to social facilities, yards of multi-apartment houses and public spaces is a serious issue and emphasized: “These zones needs special attention as directly influence safety and comfort of pedestrians. The most important are children and the elderly.”
On top of that he stated that the coming New Year and holiday celebrations also need special attention. “This topic must be under personal control of each of the heads. It is essential that there is a timely response to complaints of residents and the attention is given to prevention of hazards of snow and ice falling from roofs,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
