On 9 December in his address on the occasion of the International Anticorruption Day the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov wrote:

“Corruption is among dangerous social phenomena having a negative influence on the life of the society. Violation of principles of equality and justice is the most serious consequence of corruption which is a substantial obstacle for legal and social and economic development of the state.

Struggle against this negative phenomenon in Russia is the common task of all federal state power and local self-government bodies, civic society institutes, organizations and physical entities within their authorities.

This work is carried out with the aim of steady and sustainable development of the country and Tatarstan is making its contribution into ensuring this.

Prevention of corruption and its causes is an important reserve of the dynamic development of economic and social spheres of the republic. We actively use the whole range of tools providing openness of power bodies, transparent decision making and involvement of citizens into governance processes. In the whole we were able to raise the efficiency of budget finances invested into economy and business, increase the return of expenses on social and other implemented projects and to cut losses caused by the corruption. These approaches are supported by deep digitalization of projects under implementation in the republic, including the portal of public and municipal services and the People’s Control information system which make it possible for citizens and organizations to express their points of view, give feedback and to participate in solving a wide range of issues.”

“We will continue using all measures for corruption prevention and expect citizens of the republic to support this work,” Rustam Minnikhanov concluded.
