Rais of Tatarstan meets Director of Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia Arkady Gostev

On 4 December at their meeting in the Government House of the republic held with participation of the Head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for Tatarstan Eduard Khialeev, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Director of Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia Arkady Gostev discussed issues of cooperation of the Government of the republic and the Service in such spheres as social adaptation and rehabilitation of convicts, the development of industrial sector in penitentiaries and interaction in post-penitentiary probation.

The separate topic discussed at the meeting was the current progress of the construction of a new pretrial detention center for 1000 people being built at Gudovantseva Street in Kazan to be commissioned in 2025.

 Arkady Gostev also handed in Rustam Minnikhanov the Certificate of Appreciation of the Service for his merits in fulfilling the tasks of the Russian penal system.
