Rustam Minnikhanov: The task of International Day of Persons with Disabilities is to redouble attention to problems of people with disabilities

On 30 November, speaking at a regular meeting in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via video conference, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov gave a number of errands concerning holding the International Day of Persons with Disabilities in the republic, having reminded that in 2024 this Day is celebrated on 3 December.

“It is an important and socially meaningful date as it is related to personas with disabilities. Today there are 289 thousand such people, including 17 thousand children, living in the republic. Heads of all state power bodies, municipalities and city regions, enterprises and organizations should continue work in shaping the accessible environment in public places, social facilities and the residential houses,” he said.

Rustam Minnikhanov also gave an errand to ramp up such sphere as employment of the disabled, giving special attention to those who have come back from the special military operation.

He also gave an errand to ensure all necessary conditions for organizing medical aid, especially for the disabled children, and organize topical meetings, cultural and sports events for people with disabilities from 1 to 10 December.
