On 29 November in the beginning of their meeting in the Kazan Kremlin the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Governor of Khabarovsk region Dmitriy Demeshin, who is also the Chairman of the regional Government, signed an agreement of trade-economic, scientific-technical and social-cultural cooperation between the republic and the region and the Plan of Actions on its implementation. “It is a good foundation for strengthening business bonds between our regions,” the Rais of the republic emphasized.
He congratulated Dmitriy Demeshin with having won the election for the position of Khabarovsk region Governor this autumn and said: “I am sure under your administration the region will continuously develop.|”
Rustam Minnikhanov stated that the trade turnover between the regions is insufficient yet while there are all opportunities for expanding the mutual trade. Today Tatarstan supplies medical goods, fertilizers, food products, domestic chemistry, cars and automobile units to Khabarovsk and gets mainly pharmaceuticals and sea food from the region.
“We have good opportunities for developing not only trade but also for strengthening industrial cooperation especially in aircraft building. You have huge experience in this branch and I am sure we will define mutually beneficial spheres of interaction,” he said.
The Rais of Tatarstan also thanked Dmitriy Demeshin for the attention he attaches to preservation of culture and authenticity of about 3 300 thousand Tatars living in Khabarovsk region.
In his turn Dmitriy Demeshin thanked for the high level of the visit to Tatarstan organized for a delegation and emphasized a huge potential of developing the cooperation between the regions. ”First of all it is aircraft building. Our regions have big initial competences. Our Komsomolsk Aircraft Plant manufactures both firefighters and commercial planes. We can exchange composite materials and units. While Tatarstan has rich experience in the establishment of industrial parks which surround large enterprises. Our regions also have a well-developed ship-building and I am sure this gives good opportunities for cooperation,” the Governor emphasized.
During his trip to Kazan Dmitriy Demeshin visited the Tatarstan Investments Development Agency, got acquainted with work of the Innopolis University and its Special Economic Zone and is still planning to visit the Kazan Helicopter Plant, the Chimgrad technopolis and the Bashir Rameev IT Park.
