Rustam Minnikhanov meets the Secretary of the China Communist Party of Sichuan Province Wang Xiaohui

On 20 November speaking at his meeting with the Secretary of the China Communist Party of Sichuan Province Wang Xiaohui, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov thanked him for the welcome and stated that during the last years friendly relations of Russia and China have reached an unprecedented level and Tatarstan is making its contribution into strengthening them .

He reminded that the Chairman of China Xi Jinping took part in the XVI BRICS Summit held in Kazan in the end of October. 

“I am sure the summit and agreements reached at it will become an important step towards multi-polarity and building the more just world  and will facilitate progressive development of Russia and China relations,” Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized and reminded about the trade and economic representative office of the republic working in Beijing and the General Consulate of China in Kazan. 

“We can see the annual growth of our trade turnover which, according to the results of last year, doubled and reached 3bn dollars US. We can see the same positive dynamics in the amount of attracted Chinese investments into Tatarstan which exceeded 20m dollars US last year,” he stated. 

The Rais of Tatarstan also reminded about cooperation of the republic with Sichuan Province and the Volga- Yangtze interaction platform.

In his turn, welcoming Rustam Minnikhanov, the Secretary of the China Communist Party of Sichuan Province Wang Xiaohui, dwelt on the BRICS forum and emphasized that the role of the Rais of the republic in strengthening economic ties deserves special attention. Having mentioned the Russia-China ROSTKI forum held in Kazan last week, Wang Xiaohui said: “The fact that you are visiting China right after it proves serious intentions to develop economic bonds.” 

He proposed to deepen interaction in such spheres as agriculture, food industry, scientific-technological and humanitarian cooperation.
