Rustam Minnikhanov arrives to Sichuan Province in China

On 20 November the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov arrived on a one-day visit to the City of Chengdu in Sichuan Province of China where he is planned to attend a number of companies, get acquainted with projects of the urban territories development and have official meetings. 

Sichuan is a southwestern Chinese province with its main industries being car manufacturing, metallurgy, aerospace, construction, medical and pharmaceuticals, food and textiles, hydropower engineering and tourism. It has a strategic meaning from the point of view of defense industry and the development of the scientific and technical capacity of China.

Sichuan is interesting for Tatarstan as it is the developed industrial center in the south-west of China possessing its own hydropower recourses, developed agriculture and as the only hometown of wild pandas. In 2015 the republic and the Province signed an inter-governmental agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation and in 2016 –an agreement on establishment of twin-city relations.
