Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan is ready to be a platform for Chinese companies to enter the Russian market

On November 15, speaking at a round table with the participation of Chinese companies «Interregional cooperation of Russia and China on the example of Tatarstan» held on the sidelines on the sidelines of the II International Forum “ROSTKI: Russia and China - mutually beneficial cooperation” and moderated by the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is ready to be a platform for Chinese companies to enter the Russian market.

The Rais of Tatarstan thanked representatives of the Chinese business for participating in the ROSTKI forum. “Tatarstan attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with China under the two-state relations. Our governments and business communities are making great efforts to expand cooperation in various areas. For our part, we are ready to actively participate in these processes at the regional level”, he said.

Chairman of the Chinese Entrepreneurs Union in Russia Zhou Liqun detailed about the union’s work and emphasized that after the first «ROSTKI» forum last year, many Chinese entrepreneurs expressed interest in developing cooperation with Tatarstan.

Then, representatives of Chinese companies spoke about their business activities, the most promising areas of cooperation with Tatarstan, and Haier shared its experience of interaction with the republic. Such companies as Sinopec (the largest oil and gas company in China), China Faw Group (the first Chinese automobile manufacturer), Sany Heavy Industry (production of construction equipment), Hainan Longpan Oilfield Technology (develops and services technologies for offshore oil fields), China International Marine Containers (container transportation and logistics), HXH-Global (development of electronic products and software development), Junhe Pumps Holding (production of pumps) and others took part in the meeting.

During the meeting, the Rais of Tatarstan urged Chinese businesses work more actively on the localization of production. He emphasized that the republic has created the most comfortable conditions for investors.

Rustam Minnikhanov also called IT and agriculture the promising areas for further joint work.
