Rais of Tatarstan and Chairman of the Union of Chinese entrepreneurs in Russia discuss issues of developing cooperation

On 14 November at their meeting in Kazan on the sidelines of the II Russia-China Cooperation Forum ROSTKI the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the Chairman of the Union of Chinese entrepreneurs in Russia Zhou Liqun for his participation in the forum, having stressed that this platform facilitates the achievement of concrete agreements between Russian and China business circles. “At the last forum we discussed with you opportunities of our cooperation. In November 2023, following your invitation, I visited “the Greenwood’ business park in Moscow region,” he informed

He attracted attention to the fact that Tatarstan is an active participant in developing Russia-China cooperation and according to results of the last year the trade turnover between the republic and China nearly doubled and exceeded 3bn dollars US. Rustam Minnikhanov stated that the Leader of China Xi Jinping visited the BRICS Summit in Kazan and delegations from the republic go on regular visits to China.

He emphasized that the Union of Chinese entrepreneurs in Russia is a kind of a bridge connecting Chinese and Russian business and promotes economic cooperation. “We are interested in representatives of Chinese business coming to Tatarstan more often and getting acquainted with our investments and economic potential. A constant dialogue with your organization is very important for us,” Rustam Minnikhanov added. 

In his turn Zhou Liqun gave high assessment of the practical importance of the ROSTKI forum for the development of business ties between Russian and Chinese business. “Our investors mention attractive conditions for business in Russia. The Haier Company, which continues to open new productions in Tatarstan, is a concrete example,” he emphasized. 

The Union of Chinese entrepreneurs in Russia was established in 2006 and unites numerous representatives of Chinese business working in the Russian market. Its mission is to facilitate the development of Russia-China economic cooperation, to provide consulting and legal services to Chinese companies and to deepen the dialogue of Chinese entrepreneurs with Russian power bodies and business circles.
