On 11 November in the beginning of their meeting in the Kazan Kremlin the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Governor of Zaporozhye Region Yevgeny Balitsky signed an agreement between the Governments of the republic and the region on cooperation in trade and economic, scientific-technological, cultural and other spheres.
Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that Tatarstan has good experience of working with new Russian regions and gives them humanitarian help. On top of that the republic patronizes cities of Lisichansk and Rubezhnoye, he informed.
“During your trip to Tatarstan you have a perfect opportunity to get acquainted with social and economic development of the republic, study our experience, discuss concrete projects and to map out promising spheres of interaction. The agreement signed today will be a good foundation for strengthening business ties between regions,” he said.
The Rais of the republic informed that a number of enterprises of the republic deliver their produce to Zaporozhye Region, with such spheres as metallurgy, power industry, machine-building, IT, medicine, pharmaceuticals and agribusiness having a great capacity for development of the interaction. He also stressed out the importance of developing bonds in the spheres of culture, science and education. “We are always ready to exchange experience in supporting entrepreneurship and training specialists for industry. I am sure that joining our efforts we will successfully grow cooperation between our regions,” Rustam Minnikhanov concluded.
In his turn Yevgeniy Balitsky thanked the leadership of Tatarstan for the warm welcome. “You welcomed us as your brothers. We have been given a huge amount of information. The Russian President set forth the tasks for us on the economic, social and political integration of Zaporozhye Region into Russia. You are helping us to solve these important tasks,” he said.
During its trip to Kazan a delegation from Zaporozhye Region visited the Agency of Investments Development of the republic, the Bashir Rameev IT Park and the regional Chamber of Commerce, and the agenda also includes attending Innopolis, the Khimgrad and Kazan Federal University.
