On 7 November at his meeting with the Akim of Abay region of Kazakhstan Nurlan Uranhaev in the Kazan Kremlin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov thanked his guest for holding Days of Culture of Abay region and an exhibition dedicated to great names in history of Kazankstan “Love all humankind as your brother…” organized in the Kazan Kremlin.
“We highly appreciate an opportunity of broadening ties with Kazakhstan within the framework of traditionally friendly Russia-Kazakhstan relations. In this difficult time the states have preserved an efficient trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian partnership,” he emphasized.
Having mentioned that in the current year Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited Tatarstan twice, the Rais of the republic stated that the cooperation agenda between Tatarstan and Kazakhstan is rather intensive which is manly facilitated by the inter-governmental agreement of principles of the trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation. He said that there is the General Consulate of Kazakhstan in Kazan and the representative office of the republic in Astana as well as direct flights from Kazan to Astana and Almaty and the joint Tatarstan-Kazakhstan working group on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation . “Kazakhstani is one of the leading foreign partners of the republic and last year our trade turnover grew by 7 per cent and reached 810m US dollars. This is a very handsome number,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
He also stated that Kazakhstan market is one of the most promising for the KAMAZ Automaker, Kazan Helicopter Plant and such enterprises as KER-Holding, Almetyevsk Pipe Plant, Kazancompressormash and others.
Rustam Minnikhanov highly estimated the potential of cooperation with Abay region and said: “I think we have many opportunities for developing mutually beneficial cooperation in such spheres as power industry, machine-building, automotive and transport branches as well as agriculture and IT. He also said that cooperation in inter-cultural exchange and inter-parliamentary interaction as well as the development of educational and scientific contacts are also promising.
He thanked the administration of Abay region for facilitation of work of Tatar Art School in the City of Semey and installation of monuments to classics of Tatar literature Gabdulla Tukay and Musa Djalil.
In his turn Nurlan Uranhaev thanked the leadership of Tatarstan for huge support provided during organizing Days of Culture of Abay region. “We highly appreciate our cooperation. Tatarstan is our close friend and partner. There are many Tatars living in our region,” he said
The Akim proposed to develop interaction in spheres of trade, economy, agribusiness, logistics and science and education and speciallythe experience of Tatarstan in IT and the development of the corresponding infrastructure.
