Rais of Tatarstan inspects construction progress of a new detention center in Kazan

On 5 November the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by the Head of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service for the republic Eduard Khialeev visited penitentiary facilities located in Kazan, namely pretrial detention centers 1 and 2 and got acquainted with construction progress of a new detention center with the capacity of 1000 people to be commissioned in Kazan in 2025.

The center with the total area of 15 hectares has a check point, an administrative building and 6 high-security buildings, including those for women and under-agers as well as a separate facility for visits, laundry, canteen and garage and warehouses.

On top of that the new center will have a building for canine service and the staff training grounds.

In conclusion of his walk around Rustam Minnikhanov stated that the dynamics of construction work schedule is positive.
