On 5 November the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by the regional Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin, the regional Minister of Culture Irada Ayupova and other officials got acquainted with construction progress of a new Tatar State Academic theatre after G. Kamal.
During the walk round the Director of the Fund “The Institute of Development of Tatarstan Cities” Nailya Zinnatullina told the Rais of the republic about work being done for the improvement of the surrounding area and then Rustam Minnikhanov gave assessment to the state of readiness of the theatre complex itself. The building will have several auditoriums, creative and educational labs, a public space as well as rooms for rehearsals and administrative offices. Traditional Tatar cultural elements are used for the theater interior decoration and the Rais of the republic emphasized: “This is a landmark facility for our city. So the quality should be above everything.”
The construction of the new theatre stimulated comprehensive improvement of the adjacent residential block located between Khadi Taktash and Nursultan Nazarbayev streets, with pedestrian zones broadened, new children’s and sports grounds mounted and laying comfortable paths to kindergartens, a school and public traffic stops.
