Rustam Minnikhanov meets King of Bahrain

On 3 November, speaking at his meeting with the King of Bahrain His Majesty Hamad ibn ʿIsa Al Khalifah during his working trip to Manama, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that the participation in the conference on Islamic banking and finances is very useful for Tatarstan delegation as the republic is a pilot region in this sphere in Russia. 

The Rais of the republic thanked the leadership of Bahrain for having taken part in the BRICS Summit held in Kazan in the end of October of the current year, where the Kingdom was represented by the Minister for Foreign Affairs Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. 

“Russia attaches great attention to interaction with Bahrain. Moscow and Manama have similar positions in a wide range of international and regional issues. Our country considers the Kingdom to be an important trade, economic and investments partner in the Middle East,” Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized. 

He informed that according to the first half of the current year the Bahrain-Tatarstan trade turnover grew by 100 per cent compared to the same period last year and reached 465 thousand US dollars. “Being the center for interaction of Russia with the Islamic world, our republic can become a platform for attracting investments from Bahrain,” the Rais of the republic said. 

In his turn the King of Bahrain stated that Rustam Minnikhanov has become the main guest of the conference which raised its status. “We are always pleased to see you in Bahrain and are ready to support all our joint projects”, Hamad ibn ʿIsa Al Khalifah said.
