Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting with members of BRICS countries Youth Council: We should meet more often and communicate, and to have a positive influence on the history of the youth amalgamations

On 1 November in the Government House of the republic the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with members of the Youth Council BRICS countries where participants of the meeting were shown a video telling about a session of the council which took place on 31 October. The regional Minister for Youth Affairs Rinat Sadykov and the Chairman of the Academy of Youth Diplomacy Dilbar Sadykova, who moderated the meeting, told that the first in-person meeting of the Council collected about 40 delegates from nine countries – members of the BRICS, namely from China, Iran, the SAR, India, Egypt, Ethiopia, the UAE, Brazil and Russia. The event was organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, the regional Ministry for Youth Affairs, the “Russia-BRICS Project Office and the Academy of Youth Diplomacy.

The BRICS Youth Council has defined science and education, entrepreneurship, sports and healthy life style, volunteering and technologies and innovations as its main four spheres for cooperation.

Welcoming participants of the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that just recently Kazan hosted the BRICS Summit and said: “It is here in the capital of Tatarstan that the history of youth interaction within the BRICS amalgamation was established as the first BRICS Youth Summit was held here in 2015. Since then a lot of large scale international youth event were implemented in the republic such as the forum of young diplomats of BRICS countries, youth sessions on the sidelines of thr Kazan Forum and the Kazan global youth summit.”

He also reminded that in 2022 Kazan was given the status of the OIC Youth Capital.

“In the current year under presidency of Russia in the BRICS the youth agenda is at a very serious level. The youth policy is a strategically important sphere for the development of human capital both in Tatarstan and the whole country. It priorities include the development of youth diplomacy, strengthening international youth cooperation within such amalgamations as the OIC, BRICS and the SCO”, the Rais of Tatarstan said and emphasized that the republic has gained rich experience in working with kids and young people through NCOs and public organizations which have become a kind of a brand, such as the Salyat Youth Movement, Constellation and Out Time festival movements and amalgamations of young scientists.

Rustam Minnikhanov said that the Academy of Youth Diplomacy plays an important role in implementation of international youth programmes and projects and added: “Your initiatives are more than welcome”.
