Rustam Minnikhanov: Due to the achievements of our athletes, we can confidently say that Kazan is the Russian capital of field hockey

On October 31, at speaking at a solemn ceremony held in the Kazan Kremlin and dedicated to honoring the teams of the men's field hockey club "Dynamo - Ak Bars" and the women's field hockey club "Ak Bars - Dynamo" - champions of Russia in field hockey (super league) of the 2024 season, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated the athletes on their well-deserved victories.

He emphasized that the illustrious men’s team convincingly and unconditionally achieved superiority, becoming 22 times Russian champion and winning all trophies of the 2024 season. The success of the men’s team was an incentive for the girls, who in a fierce fight won the title of Russian champions for the fourth time.

"During the championship, the teams demonstrated a bright and beautiful game, the highest skill, cohesion and focus on victory. Due to your achievements, we can confidently say that today Kazan is the Russian capital of field hockey. We are proud of your victories!" the Rais of Tatarstan addressed the champions. He emphasized that the triumph of the Kazan teams is the result of the systematic, purposeful work of the whole team. Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the management of the teams, players, coaching staffs, the management of the Field Hockey Federation of the republic, sponsors of the clubs and the sports society "Dynamo". The Rais of the Republic drew attention that the teams mainly consist of the students of Tatarstan field hockey - the regional Sports School of the Olympic Reserve "Dynamo".

The head coach of women’s hockey club «Ak Bars - Dinamo» Valentina Apelganets and the head coach of men’s hockey club «Dynamo - Ak Bars» Araiyk Margaryan thanked the government of the republic for supporting this sport. They noted that a lot of work is being done in Tatarstan to create the most comfortable conditions for training and competitions. Then Rustam Minnikhanov was handed in the gold medals of the 2024 Russian Field Hockey Championship.
