On 28 October Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and the Head of the Federal State Statistics Service Sergey Galkin welcomed participants of the XVI meeting of heads of national statistics services of BRICS countries.
Addressing participants of the meeting, Aleksey Pesoshin stated that today’s meeting is held within the BRICS events under presidency of Russia. “The BRICS summit was over just several days ago. It is a great honor for us to host heads of national statistics services of BRICS countries as in all countries the official statistics is one of the most important tools for shaping the state policy and governance,” he said.
The participants of the meeting will discuss such important topics as the modernization of statistics procedures, introduction of modern tools for collecting and processing information, work with new data sources and digital transformation of statistics.
“All these issues are important and should be aimed at improvement of life quality and services and interaction of the state with business and population”, he said and informed that Tatarstan has become the first region to implement client centricity in providing socially important services to population in the digital format. “Due to work being done we are the first among Russian entities in the ranking of the digital transformation managers,” Aleksey Pesoshin said and added that digitalization of the sphere of statistics is also one of the most important elements.
He emphasized that the development of national economies of BRICS countries demands a continuous dialogue between statistics services and wished fruitful work to all participants of the meeting.
