On October 22, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who arrived in Kazan to take part in the BRICS Summit, was met by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at the Kazan International Airport.
Egypt became a full member of BRICS earlier this year. Based on its geographical and political location, it is called the BRICS window to the Middle East and North Africa region. In 2022, the trade volume between Egypt and the five BRICS member countries amounted to about 31.2 billion US dollars.
