On 20 October, speaking at his meeting with the President of the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) Milorad Dodik, who arrived with the direct flight Belgrad-Kazan to take part in events of the 16th BRICS Summit, in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov thanked his guest for his visit to Kazan to take part in the BRICS Summit. “It is a great and very important event for the whole of our country,” he said.
The Rais of the republic stated that meetings with the President of the Republic of Srpska are of regular character and reminded about their meeting in 2021 and in February of the current year as well as about the Protocol of cooperation signed at the St Petersburg Economic Forum this year. “We have prepared an action plan on its implementation. I am sure our partnership will only become stronger,” he emphasized
The parties of the meeting discussed prospects of the development of trade and economic cooperation and Rustam Minnikhanov said: “We are interested in broadening the scope of mutual trade and implementation of joint projects.” He also mentioned petrochemical industry, helicopter and machine-building, medical and pharmaceutical industry, power engineering, agribusiness and other branches of industry as promising spheres of trade, economic and scientific research interaction. He also emphasized the importance of contacts in cultural and educational spheres, tourism and sports.
“We are grateful to you for the meeting. One again I would like to assure you in our readiness for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation with the Republic of Srpska,” he added.
In his turn Milorad Dodik confirmed his intentions to develop cooperation with Tatarstan in all spheres and said: “In the nearest future we will establish working groups for discussing in detail all steps of implementation of our cooperation plan.”
He stated that Tatarstan is one of the leading regions of Russia and emphasized: “We are especially interested in your experience in developing the sphere of innovations. There is also a plenty of room for joint work in spheres of tourism, culture and education. I think that our republic also has something to offer to Tatarstan.”
In conclusion of the meeting Rustam Minnihanov and Milorad Dodik signed the Plan of Actions for 2024-2026 in implementation of the Protocol signed between their republics, which includes such spheres of cooperation as trade and investments, industry, agriculture, medicine and healthcare and others.
