Rustam Minnikhanov meets President of the New Development Bank Dilma Rousseff

On 20 October in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the President of the New Development Bank Dilma Rousseff who came to Tatarstan to take part in events of the 16th BRICS Summit by direct flight Shanghai-Kazan on 19 October. 

Welcoming his guest, the Rais of the republic stated the importance of hosting such an important event in Tatarstan and emphasized: “It is a great honor and huge responsibility for us to host leaders of the most important countries and international organizations, who are guests of the President of our country, in our republic.”  

In her turn Dima Rousseff stated the importance of organizing such summits in regions and emphasized her admiration of Kazan. ”It is remarkable that not only I but all we will get acquainted with Kazan now. I represent the BRICS bank, we are dealing with investments and we must know not only countries but also understand what regions they are comprised of,” she said. 

Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that the republic had its first contacts with the bank in 2018 when he discussed prospects of cooperation with the then president of the financial organization. He also informed that as the large and economic center, Tatarstan is one of the backbone regions of Russia and proposed to resume work in earlier scheduled projects of the republic related to the comprehensive development of territories and the infrastructure of a number of historical settlements of the republic.
