On 7 October the Rais (Head) of TAtarstan Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, the aid to the Rais of the republic Olesya Baltusova and the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin visited a number of facilities in the historical center of Kazan.
After that Rustam Minnikhanov looked round the building of the former Aleksandrov orphanage built in 1889 in Butlerova Street and currently housing the regional Academy of Sciences, he went to the new garden “Kazan Architraves” in Gruzdeva Street. Olesay Baltusova told him about 300 activists from the volunteers movement for preservation of the historical environment who started the development of the garden in 2023 and completed it in the current year. Every architrave at the exposition tells its story from the first person and Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the activists for their attention to history of the city and preservations of traditions of arts and crafts.
Later the same day the Rais of the republic gave assessment to restoration work in the historical block in Rakhmatullina Street the work on which is being done following the errand from Rustam Minnikhanov in 2011 and looked round the Mikhlyayev House built in the XVIII century. The house is the unique monument of architecture of the Peter the Great epoch and the oldest residential building in Kazan.
In conclusion, Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by the Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Kirill got acquainted with restoration work being done in the Peter and Paul Cathedral and looked round the Cathedral Museum exposition.
