On October 2, Aide to Russian President, Chairman of the Maritime Board of Russia Nikolay Patrushev accompanied by Tatarstan Primne Minister Aleksey Pesoshin visited Zelenodolsk Shipbuilding Plant after Gorky, which is part of the Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation in Zelenodolsk.
Patrushev looked around the production workshops of the enterprise, where new equipment was installed under the plant’s technical re-equipment programme.
Director General of Zelenodolsk Shipbuilding Plant Aleksander Filippov and the Director General of the Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation Renat Mistakhov informed about the company's development programme in introducing the latest technologies in shipbuilding, and also reported on the continuation of a large-scale programme of technical upgrading of production.
Chairman of the Maritime Board of Russia emphasized that the structure of the Shipbuilding Corporation allows to carry out the development, construction and repair of ships and vessels under a single management. According to him, the Corporation includes enterprises with modern, extensive competencies.
Then the meeting discussed the current status and prospects of development of «Ak Bars Corporation» and considered the issues of execution of contracts under the state defense order, as well as construction of passenger fleet.
