On 1 October in the Kazan City Hall Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev, who is the Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation, had a meeting with old stagers of the public service of the republic. The meeting dedicated to the International Day of Older Persons was held with participation of the Chairman of the regional State Council Farid Mukhametshin, the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Rais (Head) of the republic Asgat Safarov, the Chief of Staff of the Office of Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers Shamil Gafarov and representatives of public old stagers organizations, and Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated public service old stagers with the holiday and thanked them for long painstaking work for the good of the republic.
Addressing the guests, Mintimer Shaimiev said: “Due to integrity and mutual understanding of our multi-ethnic people, Tatarstan currently is one of the leading republics of Russia. Current achievements of the republic are also the result of your work. I hope that we will continue helping our native republic with our advice and experience. We always say “We can do it” and that’s true.”
Congratulating old stagers, who made a substantial contribution into the social and economic development of Tatarstan, Farid Mukhametshin said: ”You have done a lot for your native republic at various official and public positions and with your labour you have laid the foundation of life-changing accomplishments with the results of which we are proud today”.
After he handed in a number of state awards to public service old stagers, the participants of the meeting listened to a concert of famous artists and creative teams of the republic.
