Rustam Minnikhanov gives a welcoming speech at the VIII congress of the Russian Muslims Spiritual Board and the XX International Muslims Forum

On 21 September, in his welcoming speech at the VIII congress of the Russian Muslims Spiritual Board and the XX International Muslims Forum held in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that for many years the Russian Muslims Spiritual Board  has plaid an important role in life of the Russian society.

Having congratulated Ravil hazrat Gaynutdin, whom the congress has reelected as the Board Chairman for the next five years, Rustam Minnikhanov said:

“Your role in life of the Russian society not only attaches your work the high religious and public meaning but also lays a special responsibility on Muslim ummahs. In our complicated time, when we are vulnerable to global threats, the tasks of strengthening the unity of Russian Muslims and bringing together the whole of our multiethnic population as well as the establishment of close cooperation with international Islamic center come first. Using their joint efforts, representatives of the Russian ummah organize events aimed at preservation and strengthening of traditional spiritual values, bringing up the growing generation in respect of institutes of marriage, family and elderly people.  In the Year of the Family announced by the President of our Country Vladimir Putin it gains a special meaning”.

He also emphasized the contribution made by the Russian Muslims Religious Board into the development of the joint project – the Bolgar Islamic Academy. “Resurrection of the domestic Islamic theological school and preservation and promotion of our rich spiritual heritage depend on its efficient work,” Rustam Minnikhanov said and added that this is only a part of join work which will continue positively and fruitfully. This is especially important today under the conditions of the Special Military Operation when the whole Muslim ummah of our country and we all together must make our contribution in the victory, he concluded.
