On 7 September the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by the Head of the Office of regional Cabinet of Ministers Shamil Gafarov, the Minister of Transport and Road Economy of the republic Farit Khanifov, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and other officials, looked round a number of transport infrastructure facilities and gave assessment to capital-intensive road economy structures in Kazan, including Voznesenskiy Trakt and Gorkiy Highway.
In the beginning Rustam Minnikhanov together with representatives of the administration of the Gorkiy Railway looked round the VIP terminal and the terminal for non-mobile passengers which underwent capital overhaul, where the Head of the Railway – the branch of Russian Railways – Sergey Dorofeyevskiy told about the work done and explained repair work on railway infrastructural facilities in Kazan.
During a trip by a local train to Vakhitovo and farther to the Kazan International Airport train stops, the Minister of Transport and Road Economy of the republic Farit Khanifov explained the Rais of the republic what work is being done at Berezovaya Roscha, Kombinat, Yubilee and Stolbische platforms to get them ready for the BRICS Summit to be held in Kazan.
Later the same day Rustam Minnikhanov looked round Voznesenskiy Trakt and Gorkiy Highway in Kazan and the highway built within the Greater Zelenodolsk project.
