New Bishop of Naberezhnyye Chelny and Yelabuga Gavriil introduced to Rustam Minnikhanov

On 6 September at his meeting with the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Rais Asgat Safarov, the Metropolitan of Tatarstan and Kazan Cyril introduced the the new Bishop of Naberezhnyye Chelny and Yelabuga Gavriil who was consecrated by His Holiness the Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia on 1 September of the current year. Earlier, the Bishop was a monk of the Zadonsk Virgin Nativity Male Monastery.

Speaking at the meeting, the Metropolitan of Tatarstan and Kazan Cyril informed that the Naberezhnyye Chelny and Yelabuga diocese was established on 24 July 2024 and covers Orthodox parishes in Naberezhnyye Chelny as well as Agryz, Yelabuga, Mendeleevsk, Menzelinsk and Tukay regions, of the republic.
