Rais of Tatarstan: Tatarstan is all for being an efficient link between Russia and Turkey

On 2 September, speaking at his meeting with the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkey to Russia Tanju Bilgic in the Kazan Kremlin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is all for being an efficient link between Russia and Turkey.

He stated that the republic attaches great attention to the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation with Turkish partners within the framework of strengthening Russia-Turkey relations. ”The Republic of Turkey is one of the leading partners of Tatarstan and last year out trade turnover made about 2.9bn US dollars, having demonstrated an impressive growth of nearly 2.5 times compared to 2022,” he emphasized.

The Rais of the republic informed that Turkish companies have invested about 2bn US dollars in to the republic and there are a number of Turkish plants working successfully in Tatarstan. The Turkish business is also implementing projects in hospitality and construction spheres, Rustam Minnikhanov said. 

“We would like the Turkish business to continue developing their projects in the republic and choose it for entering Russian and Eurasian markets. We are ready to provide further support to your companies,” he added. 

In his turn Tanju Bilgic stated the leading positions of Tatarstan in a number of indicators and listed promising spheres for increasing the cooperation. 

During his working trip to Tatarstan the Ambassador is planning to visit the Alabuga Special Economic Zone, the Kazan Federal University and to meet the Mufti of the republic Kamil Samigullin.
