On 2 September the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov attended a ceremonial line up at a new natural science lyceum №95 built in the Vesna (Spring) residential block in Kazan.
The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, who also took part in the ceremony, thanked the leadership of the republic for having constructed such an important facility in the block. He informed that today Kazan schools opened their doors to 182 thousand schoolchildren, including 18 thousand first graders.
Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated children with the Day of Knowledge and stated that more than 500 thousand students have gone to school today. “The Mayor has said that the number of schoolchildren in Kazan is growing. It is very gratifying for us as the issues of increasing the demography are very important for us,” he said and emphasized that the new school corresponds to the highest standards and has all conditions for comfortable and safe studies.
The main sphere of the lyceum is natural science and it has all necessary equipment for working with drones, web-programming and IOT technologies as well as a print shop, video studio, digital labs and robotics equipment.
The school also has two gyms and two swimming pools as well as football, basketball, volleyball and hockey sports grounds and a 750 seats catering unit.
