The Rais of Tatarstan about the Day of Oil Workers: It is rightfully a holiday for strong and courageous people

On September 1, speaking at a solemn ceremony on the occasion of the Day of Employees of Oil and Gas Industry held in Almetyevsk, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan one of the country’s major oil production and refining centres.

Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that this holiday covers many professions. Among them are geologists, geophysicists, drillers, drifters mines, engineers, technicians, scientists and many other specialists who have devoted their lives to the oil and gas industry. "This is a holiday of strong and courageous people, selflessly devoted to their work, purposeful and capable of high achievements. It is they who have forged the energy security of our country for decades, formed a powerful foundation for the further development of the oil and gas industry," the Rais of the republic said. He noted that the oil and gas complex is a key sector of the domestic economy, driving the socio-economic development of the regions. It is the source of one third of federal budget revenue.

Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated oil and gas workers on their professional holiday, thanked them for their hard work and enormous contribution to the socio-economic development of the republic. Then the Rais of Tatarstan handed in a number of state awards.
