Rustam Minnikhanov and Mintimer Shaimiev take part in unveiling a memorial plaque of Hero of Socialist Labour Ildus Mostykov

On 30 August the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev took part in a ceremony of unveiling a memorial plaque of Hero of Socialist Labour Ildus Mostykov created by the sculptor Zulfia Mykhamedyanova and held in Kazan with participation of Mostyukov’s relatives and other guests.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that Ildus Mostyukov was a really legendary man as he developed the Identification friend or foe systems for which he was awarded the Title of Hero of Socialist Labour and the USSR Lenin and State awards.

The Rais of the republic said that Mostyukov was a gifted designer, having worked for 28 years at the First Chief Designer and the first Director of the Scientific and Research Institute-334, which later was transformed into the Kazan Radio electronics Research Institute, and having organized not only the powerful research institute but also the foundation for its reliable development by building new institute facilities.

“We must remember this great man. I always addressed him Ildus-abyy (uncle) – with high respect. Having such merits to the country and being the Hero of Socialist Labour he always remained a modest man. May his work live and continue,” Rustam Minnikhanov concluded.
