On August 29, speaking at a solemn reception on the occasion of the holiday with participation of the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that the Republic Day is one of the most cherished holidays, which unites all residents of multinational Tatarstan.

Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that today Tatarstan created all conditions for self-realization. Despite all difficulties, the republic maintains its leading positions and is a region with a leading development rate, a truly flagship region of the Russian Federation.

He emphasized that on this day, Tatarstan residents remember our ancestors with warmth and gratitude, having carried them through the centuries, passed us their love for our native land, preserved our cultural and spiritual-moral traditions, passed us freedom and peace, defeating the fascist invaders during the World War II.
