Rustam Minnikhanov meets Deputy General Secretary of the OIC for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs Tariq Ali Bakheet

On 20 August in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the Deputy General Secretary of the OIC for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs Tariq Ali Bakheet, who arrived to Kazan to take part in the events of the Kazan Global Youth Summit held on 21-24 August with participation of representatives from more than 40 countries.

Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Tariq Ali Bakheet for his visit to Kazan and support on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He emphasized that friendly and multifaceted ties established between Russia and Muslim countries keep developing and are built on the basis of equal partnership.

“Tatarstan is proud of its contribution into the development of reltions between Russia and the OIC. The Strategic Vision Group “Russia-the Islamic World” works in close cooperation with your Organization. It is pleasant that we have established a permanent dialogue both the central office of the OIC and its separate institutions. We support relations with the Islamic Bank of Development, Permanent Committee of the OIC for trade cooperation, the OIC YF, the Academy of Sciences of the Islamic world and a number of other organizations,” he said.
